About the Position:

Are you passionate about developing products that make a real difference in people’s lives? Does the idea of helping patients and their families arrive at a diagnosis sooner excite you? We’re looking for a Product Development Manager with knowledge of the germline genetic testing to join our Product Development team. In this role you will work with a cross-functional team to expand our Genomic Unity ® line of whole genome sequencing (WGS)-based tests and to enhance variant detection and interpretation.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for improvements and updates in Variantyx bioinformatics pipeline and interpretation platform, working closely with colleagues in development, clinical, reimbursement and marketing departments.
  • Create detailed specifications for the development team, prioritize and oversee implementation.
  • Design validation plans, perform data analysis while identifying challenges and generating solutions in coordinated effort with other members of the R&D team, and create validation reports.
  • Perform product research, market research and competitive analysis to understand germline testing needs and opportunities.
  • Work with clinical and reimbursement experts to define individual test requirements to ensure that both clinical utility and reimbursement standards are met.
  • Educate sales team on test offerings.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in genetics / bioinformatics / molecular biology
  • 2+ years product development or management experience in a clinical or life sciences setting

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with current sequencing technologies, variant detection methods and variant interpretation platforms
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated team player who will roll up their sleeves to get critical work done
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
